"We raise a common voice for peace and against militarisation"

Statement

(08.03.2016) We are conscientious objectors from all around the eastern Mediterranean region. Our region has suffered for so long from oppression, injustice, militarisation, military occupations and wars, as well as poverty, illiteracy, hunger and lack of social infrastructure. In this difficult period, when our region seems to fall even more into the chaos of war, we raise a common voice for peace and against militarisation.

Egypt must recognize Samir Elsharbaty’s right to Conscientious objection

(04.03.2016) No to Compulsory Military Service Movement declares its solidarity and support to the Conscientious Objector Samir Elsharbaty. We demand the Egyptian authorities to accept his request to be exempted from the military service, and to transfer him to a civilian service instead, as per his request.

Egypt: Exemption of the two COs Mark Nabil and Mostafa Ahmed

(18.06.2015) We are having good news this time. We, in NoMilService, had been working with two conscientious objectors during the last year: Mark Nabil and Mostafa Ahmed. Both of them were finally exempted from the military service through a decision made by the minister of defense. The decision doesn't recognize them as conscientious objectors, but still they are exempted finally from the service. We wanted to thank you all, especially our friends in WRI, EBCO and Connection e.V. for your continuous support and solidarity. You provided the international protection which enabled us to deal with one of the cruelties armies on earth. Below the statement of the No to Compulsory Military Service Movement. (Maikel Nabil Sanad)
